COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man’s been taken into custody after police say he led them on a pursuit that ended in the suspect crashing his vehicle.
It started on Thursday night, when a deputy with the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a driver near Henning St. and E. Michigan Ave. in Comstock Township. The vehicle had improper plates, and the driver disregarded a traffic sign.
When the deputy tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver sped off. The pursuit continued into Kalamazoo Township, and ended when the suspect failed to negotiate a turn at Wallace and Charles. His car flipped onto its side, and he climbed out of the passenger window in an attempt to run away. After a brief struggle, deputies were able to place him under arrest. The 46-year-old suspect is expected to face charges for Fleeing & Eluding, and Resisting and Obstructing.
