GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Fire Department will conduct a controlled burn on the campus of Calvin College today.
The burn is scheduled for 11 a.m. and is meant to reintroduce fire as a natural process into the fire dependent ecosystem, stimulate the growth of native and rare plants, and push back any species that may be invading the area.
The burn is dependent on weather conditions.
