All Lanes Back Open After Fatal Crash

HOLLAND, Mich. —  U.S. 31 in Holland is back open after a fatal car-bicycle crash.

The accident occurred at 9:30 p.m. Monday on U.S. 31 at 16th Street in Holland. The roadway was closed to traffic shortly thereafter and remained closed for several hours.

The driver was southbound on U.S. 31 and had the right of way when a man in his ’70s rode a bike across 31 in front of the car and the two collided, according to witnesses.

Police told FOX 17 NEWS that the bicycle rider died in the accident. His name will not be released until relatives are notified.
