COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich- On Saturday, Kalamazoo County Sheriffs’ Deputies responded to two separate addresses in Comstock Twp in reference to 3 heroin overdoses. In all cases, the victim was found unresponsive, and near death. Because of the quick actions of deputies and medical personnel from Comstock Twp FD and Pride Care ambulance on scene, all three survived.
In the first incident, a 27 year old male, under the influence of heroin drove his infant child and girlfriend to an address in the 6200 blk of Wright St. The girlfriend had also used heroin and lost consciousness. Rescue was called and did revive her. The male was arrested for Operating With the Presence of Drugs and child endangerment. While officers were still investigating this incident, the man’s sister collapsed inside the house and was found unresponsive without a pulse. It was found that she had injected heroin also. She was also revived and transported to a local hospital.
As this second incident was being investigated, deputies received a call from the 600 block of Azuba Rd.in Comstock Twp in reference to another overdose. A 24 year old female was found unconscious in a house there. Again, she was found not to have pulse. Rescue was able to revive her also. A search warrant of this house located some drug related items.
These cases remain under investigation.
