EAST LANSING, Mich. — He waited until the last day, but in the end Adreian Payne decided to stay.

The 6-foot-10 junior center announced today at a press conference that he would be returning to Michigan State for his senior season. Today is the last day for players to declare for early entry into the NBA Draft.

Payne averaged 10.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game this season. He also led the Spartans in free throw percentage making 84.8-percent of his shots from the charity stripe.

He joins teammate Gary Harris, who announced a little over a week ago that he would be returning for his sophomore season. Michigan State will only lose senior center Derrick Nix from this year’s starting five.
