KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich- Joyce Condgdon, an 86 year old Kalamazoo woman was driving west bound on Gull Rd. in the 1500 Blk when she struck the rear of a vehicle stopped at the red light at Gull Rd. and Shaffer. Her vehicle continued west bound a short distance before striking a tree on the north side of Gull Rd in front of Borgess Hospital. This happened around 10 a.m Saturday Morning.
The second vehicle was being driven by a 35 year old Kalamazoo man, who ran away from the scene after the accident.
Ms. Condgdon was transported to Borgess Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The 35 year old man was located and returned to the scene and charges are being sought for leaving the scene of an accident and driving while license suspended.
Alcohol was determined not to be a factor.
