GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — After winning the $25,000 Home Depot Foundation grant in February, the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans will break ground on a few new additions to the home today.
The home will add a new patio, a potting shed, and some landscaping.
Local Home Depot employees will be on hand from 8 a.m. until noon to host the ground breaking.
The home is also up for a grand prize grant of $250,000 dollars, and the West Michigan community is asked to cast their votes when voting opens on May 1 and runs through May 31. The money will help with veteran room renovations.
