4.24 rapid bus suspect

PLAINFIELD TWP, Mich — The Kent County Sheriff’s Department is hoping someone will recognize the man pictured in the above photo. He is suspected of stealing two bottles of alcohol from the Meijer on Plainfield Avenue.

It all happened on March 28. The suspect apparently tried to hide the two bottles, then ran out of the store onto a Rapid bus.

A Kent County Sheriff’s deputy saw the suspect get on the bus, made contact and tried to arrest him. Then the suspect pushed past the officer and ran away.

The photo is from surveillance video taken on the bus, and the sheriff’s department is asking the public to help identify him. He’s described as a black male, approximately 18 years old, 5′ 10″ and 160 pounds. At the time of the incident the man was wearing blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black winter jacket.

If you recognize him, call the Kent County Sheriff Department at 616-632-6125 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
