SPRING LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Spring Lake woman was hospitalized after her minivan rolled over and hit a bridge abutment early Wednesday evening.
At 5:34 p.m. Wednesday, Sharron Jo Wright, 56, of Spring Lake was southbound on North Fruitport Road when her 2008 Honda Odyssey ran off the edge of the roadway near Longview Drive in Spring Lake Township, crossed over a bike path, hit an abutment on the Bowen Bridge, rolled down an embankment and landed on its wheels in Petty’s Bayou. The water was knee deep and Wright was able to get out of the minivan safely.
Wright suffered minor injuries and was taken to North Ottawa Community Hospital where she was listed in good condition later Wednesday. She was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident.
