Suspect Sought In Holland Township Bank Robbery

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich.-  The Macatawa Bank at 489 Butternut Drive was robbed Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, at 3:35 p.m. a lone man entered the bank, approached a teller, produced a handgun and demanded money. The man received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot toward the Leisure Estates Mobile Home Park at 523 Butternut Drive.

Witnesses said the man got into a large white SUV driven by another person and left the scene.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s standing 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10, medium build, wearing a gray hoodie, baggy faded blue jeans with a design on the back pocket, a white shirt, black or dark scarf over the face, a gary Chicago Bulls cap with a red bill, gray aviator sunglasses and carrying a backpack.

West Ottawa Public Schools buses were held up for a short time while a nearby park at the mobile home park was searches. Once the search was completed, the buses then were allowed to drop off students.
