Posted

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is looking for a male suspect after a Credit Union Robbery on Saturday morning.

Detectives say a man between 24-30 years of age walked into the First Community Federal Credit Union at 706 N. Westnedge and handed a teller a note demanding money.  This was around 11:45 a.m.

The teller handed the suspect money, who kept the note, then left the Credit Union on foot.  No weapon was seen during the exchange.

A Public Safety K-9 unit tracked the suspect to the area of W. Frank and Cooley Street, but the suspect wasn’t found.

He’s about 5’10” tall, between 175-195 pounds.  The suspect was last seen wearing a dark blue or black zipper hoodie style sweatshirt, a white t-shirt, blue jeans and dark-colored shoes.  The suspect was also wearing a black knit cap with ear flaps and tassels.  The cap also had several white “snow flakes” on it.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 269-337-8994 or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
