No Foul Play With Grand River Body

gh-body[1]GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — An autopsy was conducted Friday on a body found in the Grand River on Thursday.

According to the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety, based on the preliminary autopsy results there was no evidence of foul play. The body was found in the river just before 11 a.m. Thursday near Rycenga Lumber in Grand Haven.

The cause of death remains undetermined pending further forensic analysis and testing.

Positive identification of the body also will require additional forensic testing.

Police said that preliminary identification has been completed and that, based on all available information, the dead person was not a resident of the Grand Haven area and the case is not related to any activity originating in Grand Haven.

Grand Haven Public Safety detectives continue to work closely with other law enforcement agencies to complete the investigation.
