MUSKEGON, Mich. — Mercy Health Partners and West Shore Cardiology are teaming up to offer free heart screenings for any West Michigan high school student.
The cardiovascular screenings attempt to identify student athletes who may be at increased risk to provoking disease progression or sudden cardiac death due to participation in physical activity or sports competition.
The screenings will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m on Wednesday at Youngberg Auditorium on Mercy Health’s Hackley Campus.
In the past two years, Mercy Health has screened almost 1,400 high school students, identifying at least five people with potentially life-threatening conditions.
