HARTFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich – Two children and two adults are recovering after a rollover crash this morning in Van Buren County.
Sheriff’s deputies say a 2007 Saturn was traveling along I-94 near 62nd street when the driver, 36 year old Bakiba Burke of Chicago, reportedly lost control of the vehicle and ran into a cable barrier.
The collision caused the car to roll several times in to the nearby median.
Three other people were in the car with Burke, including a 69 year old woman, a 9 year old girl and a 6 year old girl.
Burke was hospitalized with a serious arm injury. The other three occupants all suffered minor injuries.
Deputies say all four people were wearing their safety belts, however the driver was cited for failing to secure a child in a child safety restraint seat.
