NEWAYGO COUNTY, Mi.–Multiple police departments are on the scene in northern Newaygo County after two people were killed. Michigan State Police and the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Department, along with K-9 units are searching for a suspect in a double murder case, according to investigators.
Investigators responded to the area after a call that shots were fired Wednesday afternoon in the area of 17 mile road and M-37. That’s near the Manistee National Forest. Fox 17 has a crew on the way and will bring you updates as soon as they become available.
The suspect has been identified as 59-year-old Charles Hoover. Investigators say he is between 5 -feet 10-inches and 6-feet tall
weighing 205 pounds.
