newaygo shootingNEWAYGO COUNTY, Mich. -– The Newaygo County Sheriff Department and Michigan State Police say double homicide suspect Charles Hoover, 59, was found dead inside a home Wednesday night.  They say Hoover had a self-inflicted gunshot wound when they found him.  FOX 17 first reported the update on FOX 17 News at 10.

Earlier today two bodies were found outside a home on 17 mile and M 37 in northern Newaygo County. The Sheriff Department tell FOX 17 there was a 911 call from inside the home and they believe it was one of the victims.

The Newaygo County Sheriff Department stress there may be more victims inside the home.  The Sheriff Department say they used a robot outside the house trying to figure out if Hoover was inside. All vehicles are accounted for at the home which is why police believe Hoover was either in the home or on foot.

Investigators responded to a call that shots were fired Wednesday afternoon in the area of 17 mile road and M-37. That’s  near the Manistee National Forest.
