(WEST MICHIGAN) — Areas of light rain are moving into West Michigan this morning. Some areas of light snow will be possible north of the Grand Rapids area as temperatures are very close to freezing this morning. Areas around Grand Rapids and south will likely see only light rain as temperatures remain more mild. Dry air just above the surface will limit how much precipitation actually makes it to the ground this morning before the atmosphere moistens up enough to allow for heavier rain later today and tonight.
Better chances for more moderate rain will start later this afternoon and continue through the evening. Some rumbles of thunder will be possible along the lakeshore tonight but no severe weather is expected at all. Winds will also be fairly gusty today and tonight with winds gusting in excess of 25 miles per hour.
