BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Officer Laurie Gillespie, a veteran of the Battle Creek Police Department, has been dismissed from her job and is now the subject of a Michigan State Police investigation.

FOX 17 has learned that State Police have a video tape taken from a hidden camera at the police station but have not had a chance to review the tape as of Wednesday night.

Sources say officer Gillespie is accused of stealing from her co-workers.

Chief Jackie Hampton, with the Battle Creek Police Department, would only confirm that officer Gillespie was dismissed from the police force and said the matter is now in the hands of State Police.

Investigators say it could be weeks before the findings are turned over to the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s office.
