KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A Kalamazoo mother whose children died in an apartment fire may soon have charges filed against her.
Kalamazoo Public Safety says that it submitted a report to the county prosecutor’s office against Jonetta Woods. They’re requesting three counts of second-degree child abuse
Woods is accused of leaving her four children in an apartment before it caught fire. Three of those children died including a 1-year -old and 3-year old twins. A 4-year old ran to safety.
The fire happened at Interfaith Homes in Kalamazoo on February 18th.
Woods has since lost custody of her 4-year old.
It’s up to the prosecutor decided whether to press charges.
