UNION TOWNSHIP, Mich – There was 2 vehicle accident this morning in Branch County, but one of the drivers could not be found. The accident happened on W. Girard Rd. west of Olds Rd. around 5 AM this morning.
When Deputies arrived on scene, they found Scott Shelts trapped in his vehicle and the other vehicle empty. Union City Fire Dept. had to use the Jaws of Life to free Mr. Shelts.
Mr. Shelts was then transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Deputies did an immediate search of the area and could not locate the second driver.
The accident remains under investigation. If any one has any information on this accident please call the Branch Country Sheriff’s Department.
