Info:     Probation violation

 

Deputies responded to the 5500 block of 109th Ave in Lee Twp residence for a reported domestic disturbance in progress.  The investigation determined that the incident was a heated verbal argument and that one of the parties involved was currently on Circuit Court probation.  The suspect had apparently been out all night and was acting as if he was under the influence of some type of narcotic.  No assault had occurred; however, the suspect violated his probation terms and his Probation Officer requested that he be arrested and lodged in the county jail.

Info:     Possession of Marijuana

A Deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Liberty St in Gun Plain Twp in reference to an unknown situation.  The caller stated that her neighbor was sitting in a vehicle in his driveway playing loud music and it appeared as if he was “passed out.”  Upon arrival the Deputy observed the subject smoking marijuana and consuming alcohol.  The Deputy K9 dog found additional marijuana in the vehicle during a search.  A warrant for possession of marijuana will be sought.  The Plainwell Dept. of Public Safety assisted with the complaint.

Info:     Operating while intoxicated

A Leighton / Dorr Twp Deputy was dispatched to S/B US-131 near the 66 mile marker in Leighton Twp in reference to a vehicle that was traveling 25mph on the highway and had struck the median barrier wires.  The caller stated that the vehicle had struck the median barrier wires four separate times and had finally stopped near the 66 mile marker.  The investigation found that the driver had operated while intoxicated and that the driver believed that she was traveling on Burlingame Ave in the Grand Rapids area.  The driver was arrested for OWI and was later found to have a blood alcohol level three times over the legal limit. The Wayland Police Dept. assisted with the complaint.

Info:     Larceny

A Deputy was dispatched to an apartment complex in Lee Twp to investigate the theft of car stereos from two motor vehicles.  The deputy determined that sometime after 10:00pm last night unknown suspect(s) had entered the vehicles and removed the car stereos.  The Deputy also found that in both larcenies the victims left the vehicles unlocked.  A Sergeant assisted the Deputy by processing the crime scenes for evidence and taking photographs.  A canvas of the neighborhood was also conducted and several potential witnesses were interviewed.  No suspects have been identified and the case remains under investigation.

A Deputy and Sergeant responded to a Manlius Twp home for a report of an ex-boyfriend threatening to kick in the caller’s door.  The caller reported that her ex-boyfriend was at her front door, intoxicated, and demanding that she give him property she did not have.  She also reported that the suspect made threats that he was homicidal and suicidal.  Upon arrival, the Deputies found the suspect sitting in his truck outside the home.  Deputies found that there was no evidence of the suspect trying to kick in the door, he was not intoxicated, and that he merely came over to obtain some personal belongings.  Deputies stood by as peace officers while some personal property was retrieved.

Info:     Operating while intoxicated

A Deputy conducted a traffic stop on S/B US-131 near the 47mile marker in Gun Plain Twp in reference to a report of a vehicle that was “all over the road.”  During the investigation it was found that the driver had operated while intoxicated.  The driver was arrested and was later found to have a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit.

Info:     Assault / Malicious destruction of property

 

A Deputy was dispatched to a residence on 30th St south of 101st Ave. in Trowbridge Twp in reference to an assault complaint.  The caller stated that one of the residents had damaged the interior of the residence and had attempted to hit someone with a shovel.  The investigation determined that the incident had occurred as it was described and the suspect was arrested for assault and for destruction of property.  The Allegan Police Dept. assisted with the complaint.

Info:     Car crash / leaving the scene

Deputies where dispatched to a party in the 4600 block of 134th Ave in the Hamilton area (see below). While getting out at the residence a deputy heard yelling down the street and located a car crash where a subject had fled from the scene. A Deputy with a K9 Dog was responding to track the suspect; however, came upon a car fire south of Hamilton. He was later relieved by a Sgt. so he could track the suspect from the crash.

Info:     Liquor violations / probation violations

Deputies where dispatched to a party in the 4600 block of 134th Ave in the Hamilton area.  A subject who was on probation for a felony and was under age came to the door.  The subject was not cooperative so he was detained and a search of his residence conducted due to the terms of his probation. Several other probationers where located in the residence. One of these subjects was hiding in the house and fought with law enforcement officers. In total, 9 minor in possession of alcohol (MIP) citations were issued and 3 arrests where made.
