PAW PAW, Mich– It’s bowling for a cause.

“I know what it can be like, so I just want to spread the word and get people aware of it,” Pamela Ernst, organizer said.

Pamela Ernst was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy when she was 24 years old. It’s called MD1, and it basically causes her muscles to move all the time.

“My doctor had to Google it, he did not understand. I was diagnosed with it, the doctor was like amazed. He brought in his whole team to listen to my muscles,” Ernst said.

Pamela says it took her doctors years to figure out what was wrong with her, and she doesn’t want others to go through the same thing. That’s why she started the event call “Bowling for Muscles.”

“I know what it can be like, so I just want to spread the word and get people aware of it,” Ernst said.

On Sunday March 17th, or Saint Patrick’s day, she’s holding the bowling event at Rainbow Lanes in Paw Paw. For $10, you can bowl as much as you want between noon and 3pm and the shoes are included.

Half of the processed made from this event will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, to help find a cure.

“I want the awareness to be out there, I want people to be aware of this,” Ernst said.

It’s open to whoever wants to attend and there is no need to register, you can just show up. If you would like to register for this event, contact Pamela at pkernst84@gmail.com.
