Posted

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. –  State Police say they need your help to find 21-year-old Curtis Hankton.  He’s described as a black man, 6’4″, weighing 260 pounds.  Lt. Chuck Christensen with Michigan State Police says he has reason to hide in our West Michigan.

“He may be near South Bend, Benton Harbor, he also does have ties to Kalamazoo,” said Lt. Christensen.

On January 22nd, at the Big Bend apartment complex, police say Hankton, along with LaFunta Summers and Danny Vinson broke into the home of Vinson’s ex-girlfriend.

According to court records, Vinson is accused of sexually assaulting the victim while threatening to kill both her and her mother.

The men are accused of stealing her money and a TV in the process.

The prosecutor told the court that the victim suffered broken teeth, a torn lip, a torn earlobe, and bruises all over her body.

Police say after the assault the victim was taken against her will and driven 45 miles away to a hospital in Watervliet.

Both Vinson and Summers were arrested the next day.

“It took us some time to identify the third person and at the point we did and had enough information we went to the prosecutor’s office obtained a warrant and had been searching for the past week,” said Lt. Christensen.

Police say because of the violent crimes Hankton is accused of committing, he should be considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers or State Police.
