ILLINOIS – The man accused of killing David and Vivian Bouwman of Kentwood appeared in court today.
Investigators said they dropped the resisting arrest charges against Higgins in efforts to speed up the process of extraditing him back to Michigan.
Higgins was arrested near Chicago on Friday.
He is the only suspect in the Bouwman murders.
The couple was shot inside their home on Jan. 5.
Higgins is set to appear in an Illinois court in February.
He has not been charged in connection to the Bouwman murders.
