CALEDONIA, Mich. – A benefit is being held for a local toddler who was diagnosed with cancer.

At just 10-months-old, Brandon and Kelli Greer’s daughter, Abby was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor in March, 2012.

Abby went through 12 and a half hours of surgery to remove the tumor. She continued to fight through 30 radiation treatments. She even survived a stroke during her recovery.

Finally some good news came.  After a long battle, the Greers were told that Abby had beat the odds. She was cancer-free.

However, during a routine check-up, doctors discovered that the cancer was back. Only this time, it had spread to her spine.  The Greers were also told, that unlike Abby’s first battle with cancer, surgery would not be option. Then came the devastating blow. The Greers were told they would only have six more months to spend with their baby girl.

The family is holding the benefit to raise money for medical expenses, cost of living expenses and eventually, funeral expenses.

The event will take place on March 2, 2013, at Pietro’s Italian Restaurant from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
