Forbes Ranks GR As 7th Happiest Place To Work

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.  – Forbes as named the city of Grand Rapids the seventh happiest place to work.

Forbes released the results compiled by CareerBliss, which based its analyses on more than 36,000 independent employee reviews.

“On average professionals spend more time at work than they do at home,” said CareerBliss’ chief executive, Heidi Golledge. “If a significant portion of our lives is spent at work and the work environment is not conducive to a happy atmosphere, the negative effects can transcend into all areas of our lives.”

The list was compiled of rankings that were marked on a five-point scale.

Employees across the country were asked to evaluate ten factors that affect workplace happiness.

Here’s how Grand Rapid’s nabbed its spot:

Overall score: 3.95

The Company You Work For: 4.17

The Culture of Your Company: 3.74

The Growth Opportunities Available To You: 3.14

The People You Work With: 4.25

The Person You Work For: 4.11

The Place You Work: 4.01

The Rewards You Receive: 3.69

The Support You Get: 3.86

The Way You Work: 4.17

The Work You Do: 4.32
