KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A 26-year-old Kalamazoo woman was shot by her boyfriend Saturday evening.
It happened in the 1700 block of North Edwards around 5:52 p.m.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said officers responded to Bronson Hospital after someone showed up with a gunshot wound.
The victim told police she was got into an argument with her boyfriend, who struck her with a handgun and then shot her in the arm.
Police said he drove the victim to the hospital and then left.
The woman was shot once and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police arrested the 23-year-old suspect at a home near Jefferson and Forbes Avenue.
He was arrested for Assault with Intent to Murder, Felony Firearm, Felony in Possession of a Firearm and Violation of a Criminal Bond.
The suspect is lodged in the Kalamazoo County Jail.
