BATTLE CREEK, Mich., — The Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center has invited the public to a free event that celebrates Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

The event is planned for Jan. 17 at 9 a.m. and features the theme “Remember! Celebrate! Act! – A Day On, Not a Day off!”

Pastor Billie Dalton of the First United Methodist Church of Battle Creek will serve as the guest speaker, and the event will feature musical guests including the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church Praise Team.

Anyone who wishes to attend is advised to enter the building through the Washington Avenue entrance. In addition, members of the public should also be prepared to go through a security screening similar to that of an airport. Visitors must also have some form of official photo identification.
