GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Crews are pulling late nights to get the stage set and things in place for the Hot New Year’s Eve Party in downtown Grand Rapids.
It’s the 5th year for the block party bash put on by 105.3 Hot FM.
“In the last couple of years we’ve had 30 to 40,000 people, so we expect the same,” said Director of Marketing Marcus Bradman.
The staff will be working from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m to get things ready for the big party, which will include a ball drop and free concert at Rosa Parks Circle.
“The biggest thing is that it is safe,” said Bradman.
“We have plenty of security, plenty of police down here, so it is secure and safe like that and we have a warming tent also where you can get a hot chocolate,” he said.
The festivities start around 6 p.m.
Musical guests include Baby Bash, Sylvia Yacoub, The Outer Vibe and headliner Jesse McCartney followed by the ball drop at 11:59.
