OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. – Dive teams searched the Grand River in Ottawa County in hopes of finding some answers in the disappearance of a Jenison woman.
However, around dark they wrapped up their efforts.
The 12th Street Park in Georgetown Township is the last place they believe Gail Masselink was.
Divers also used sonar equipment and underwater cameras to see if anything below the surface resembles a person.
The group Mid-Michigan Working Dogs was also on the scene again. They assisted in the search in a nearby wooded area.
Masselink was reported missing Sunday afternoon. That’s also the day a sergeant said her car was found parked a couple hundred yards away from the search site.
“She is from a neighborhood nearby, and it’s our understanding from interviews with her family that she is does come to this area, does do some hiking on occasion and she would be familiar with this area,” Sergeant Jason Kik, with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said.
Dive crews plan to continue their search efforts Thursday morning.
