It took Luke Glendening all of 2:56 to score his first AHL goal in a Grand Rapids Griffins uniform.
Glendening, an East Grand Rapids grad and former Michigan hockey star, scored in the first period of Wednesday night’s game against Rochester. The goal put the Griffins up quickly 1-0.
Glendening was making his debut for Grand Rapids after getting called up from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye. Glendening’s debut marks the first time a player from the Grand Rapids area has played for the Griffins.
