Charles Brown Sentenced On Murder Charges

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Charles Brown Jr., the man found guilty of charges in the murder of Michael Bockheim has been sentenced in Kent County District Court Thursday.

Brown will first serve two years for a felony firearm charge. After that he will serve consecutive sentences of between 40-80 years for armed robbery, 40-80 years for armed robbery conspiracy. Brown received life with no chance of parole for the homicide.

Last month the 20-year-old was found guilty of the charges in court.

Back on January 15, Michael Bockheim, 28, was found in his minivan near the intersection of Barberry Street and Byron Center in Wyoming, Mich. after leaving his daughter’s birthday party.

Brown came forward voluntarily on January 31, 2012 as a person of interest in the murder investigation which led to his arrest.
