Posted

The Greenville Department of Public Safety is investigating Sunday’s death of a 38-year-old Greenville woman as suspicious.

Public Safety Director Mike Pousak told FOX 17 NEWS that the woman was discovered dead in her home when her ex-husband arrived at a house in the 600 block of Harrison Street to pick up their son Sunday afternoon.

Pousak said Greenville police and paramedics arrived at the scene between 1:30 and 2 p.m. and the woman was dead.

He said the ex-husband was picking up their 3-year-old son. The child opened the door for his father, said his mother was upstairs and the ex-husband found her body and called police.

Pousak told FOX 17 NEWS the death is being treated as suspicious. The autopsy report is expected back Tuesday afternoon.

The woman’s name is not being released until relatives are contacted.
