A paratrooper from West Michigan has been found dead in a North Carolina apartment.
The-37-year-old from Byron Center was found unresponsive and pronounced dead Friday morning.
Griffey joined the army in 1993, and was most recently a member of the 82nd airborne division.
Griffey served on two combat deployments, once in support of operation Iraqi freedom in march of 2003, and operation enduring freedom in January of 2007.
