GRAND RAPIDS, Mich – A puppy born blind in war-torn Syria was not wanted, his breeder was going to kill him because he was unsellable. A local West Michigan organization helps save dogs like this all the time.

The puppy featured in the video in this post was legally blind, and will always be that way Janelle McFarlane, founder of Hearts Of Hope told FOX 17.

“Animals LeBanon arranged the transportation to get him (the puppy) out of Syria which was very dangerous, he’s lucky he made it,” McFarlane said.

Lots of dogs are rescued in a similar fashion, the group pays for things like medical and transportation costs.

The organization rescued 200 dogs in the last year from similar war-torn areas. West Michigan shelters help dogs find new families here locally.
