The Mason County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the death of a Zeeland man that was found dead early Thursday morning.
Deputies were sent to a hunting camp on Tyndal Road north of Free Soil Road at approximately 8:30 a.m.
Investigators say 54-year-old Richard Deboer of Zeeland was found dead inside a van on the property.
The preliminary investigation reveals Deboer most likely died from asphyxiation caused by a propane heater that was being used to heat the van he was sleeping in.
The investigation continues for the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
