WYOMING, Mich. — A fire broke out in a home on 35th St. SE just off of Division around 3 a.m. Sunday morning.
The "expansive" fire was mostly outside on the porch, although it extended inside the front door and there was a lot of smoke inside, according to the Wyoming Fire Chief.
6 people were stuck inside at the time, 2 adults and 4 kids.
A 56-year-old man with disabilities is confirmed to have died as a result of the fire, while a 12-year-old was taken to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in critical condition.
Both the Wyoming Fire Department and Michigan State Police helped with the investigation.
