GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Pop music icon and actress Olivia Newton-John stopped in West Michigan Monday. The "Grease" superstar is helping to raise money for cancer research.
Newton-John stopped by the Cascade Meijer location in Grand Rapids to help launch her nephew, Emerson Newton-John's new "Pink and Blue" wine brand. The Pink and Blue for Two campaign encourages men and women to talk to each other about prostate and breast cancer screening.
Newton-John is the spokesperson for the new vino and the proceeds will benefit both breast and prostate cancer awareness.
It's a cause that hits close to home for her.
“I had breast cancer 25 years ago and I’m fine thank goodness, I’m thriving. We’re hoping to see an end to cancer and I believe we will in our lifetime, but in the meantime we need to encourage people to get screened early,” she said.
Pink and Blue wines come in two varieties, Chardonnay and Cabernet. Not sure which one to buy? Here is Olivia's recommendation, “I’m a red girl, so I like red, but I actually like the Pink and Blue Chardonnay. I’m not a big drinker, but I’ll have a little sip with a meal.”
Pink and Blue wine is available at all Meijer locations.
