BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The ‘Color the Creek’ street art festival kicks off Saturday downtown Battle Creek at Festival Market Square from 4 to 10 p.m.

This is Southwest Michigan’s first street arts fest.

Artists are expected to create three new murals on buildings downtown and visitors are invited to come and watch.  Organizers also urging attendees to bring a t-shirt to take part in the screen-printing demonstrations.

“Color the Creek is a great way to add vibrancy to buildings that have sat dormant for years,” says event organizer Justin Andert. ” Our hope would be that these new public displays and our festival event will create new energy around the arts in Battle Creek.”

The artists painting the murals are Sintex of Detroit, Bonus Saves of Kalamazoo, and Branden Redmond of Battle Creek.

There will also be craft beer, music, and vendors.
