LUDINGTON, Mich. - It took a long, sometimes tedious three days, but a jury has finally been chosen to determine the Baby Kate murder case.
Katherine Phillips, Baby Kate, went missing more than five years ago from her home in Mason County. Sean Phillips, her father, was convicted of unlawful imprisonment for her disappearance and is serving a ten-year sentence. He is now charged in her murder although Baby Kate's body has never been found.
It took prosecutors and defense attorneys three day to choose 14 people to serve on the jury. The case has been very high profile and most people in Mason County are aware of the case.
The jury is made up of seven women and seven men and two of the chosen will be alternative jurors should a jury member not be able to finish the trial.
Opening arguments begin Thursday morning.
