LAKE ODESSA, Mich. — A 13-year-old boy had to undergo surgery after being shot repeatedly with a BB gun during a sleepover last week, according to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Department.

Jerimiah Michael Carroll, 19, of Lake Odessa allegedly opened fire on the teen in the 2000 block of W. Eaton Highway on Aug. 26.   He was arrested and is facing charges of aggravated assault and a probation violation.

The 13-year-old boy’s mother called police after he returned home “both visibly intoxicated and with several wounds on his body,” according to a release from the sheriff’s department.

Deputies say they recovered stolen property from several recent garage break-ins while investigating the incident, including a BB gun and several bottles of liquor.

Investigators say Carroll  shot the boy several times with the stolen BB gun.   Multiple BBs were surgically removed from the boy, according to a release.

Another adult and two other juveniles are facing charges in this case but have not yet been identified.
