Fox News Tuesday announced the 10 Republican presidential candidates who will participate in the first presidential primary debate later this week.
Candidates:
- Donald Trump
- Jeb Bush
- Scott Walker
- Mike Huckabee
- Ben Carson
- Ted Cruz
- Marco Rubio
- Rand Paul
- Chris Christie
- John Kasich
The prime-time debate will be held at the Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday in Cleveland, Ohio. It will be broadcast at 9 p.m. on Fox News. FOX 17 will also be in Cleveland to cover the debate.
Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and several others will not be on the prime-time, 9 p.m. stage. The seven who did not make the top 10 will be invited to a separate 5 p.m. debate. Aside from Perry and Santorum, this includes Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal; former HP head Carly Fiorina; South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham; former New York Gov. George Pataki; and former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore.
The candidates were chosen based on an average of the five most recent national polls.
