26-year-old stabbed in early morning dispute

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A Kalamazoo resident was stabbed outside the Huntington Bank on E. Michigan Saturday morning around 12:15 a.m.

Kalamazoo Public Safety said the 26 year old victim was lying on the ground with several stab wounds in the upper torso.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses say that the victim and another subject were fighting when the suspect, a 42 year old Kalamazoo resident, jumped into the conflict.

Officials say the suspect was arrested at the scene for assault with intent to murder.
