MARSHALL, Mich.–Police arrested a man after he turned himself in for shooting a woman early Wednesday morning.

According to Marshall Police Department, they responded to a call of a possible shooting around midnight in the 400 block of West Prospect Street. After they secured the perimeter of the area, they believed a victim had been shot and there were hostages inside the residence. As they were working on an emergency entrance, a person that had escaped the house came forward with more information. According to the witness, a man came into the house and started arguing with a woman inside, and heard what sounded like a gunshot.

After officers found the victim, they got her out of the house and she was taken to the hospital–they couldn’t find the suspect. A short time later, Marshall Police Department received a call from the Michigan State Police, saying they had a man that had wanted to turn himself in for shooting someone. After investigating, police say they were able to confirm that the man was the suspect they were looking for. He was arrested after being interviewed by police.

He’s facing charges of Assault with Intent to Murder, Aggravated Stalking among others.
