BRONSON, Mich. (June 24, 2014) — Investigators say distracted driving was a major factor in a three-vehicle crash that injured the drivers and passengers.

The impact on US-12 at Wildlife Road was so great, two of the three vehicles involved ended up on the ditch on opposite sides of the road, said the Branch County Sheriff’s Department.

Tristan Ferry, 29, of Coldwater, was eastbound and waiting to make a left turn when a vehicle driver by Isaih Osborne, 19, rear-ended Ferry’s vehicle, pushing it into the path of westbound driver Mohamed Alslehay, 20, of Coldwater. The vehicles driven by Ferry and Alslehay were the ones whose momentum sent them into ditches on opposite sides of the highway.

While alcohol was not a factor, distractions and speed were.

The crash took place around 3:15 p.m. June 23.
