PORTAGE, Mich — Two suspects were arrested in Portage after stealing a car.
It all started on Tuesday around 11 p.m. when the Portage Department of Public Safety got a report that a car was stolen from a convenience store parking lot in the area of Meredith Street and Sprinkle Road.
Officers determined the car was just outside of Vicksburg, and an officer spotted it at 1 a.m. Wednesday. They tried to pull the car over, but the driver sped away and drove back into Portage. The officers deployed spike strips, and the two suspects got out of the car and tried to run.
Police dogs aided in the search, and the two suspects were eventually found. They’re now facing charges for the stolen vehicle, fleeing and eluding, and resisting officers.
