GRAND RAPIDS -
A young man who hs been a father for only a month is dead after falling from an apparatus at the Grand Rapids Art Museum downtown.
Tyler Cotter, 21, was one of two workers cleaning at the museum when the scaffolding connecting him to the roof fell.
Cotter fell more than 50 feet just after 3 p.m. on the south side of the building. A pharmacist and nurse who happened to be in the area at the time of the fall attempted to assist the man until paramedics arrived on scene.
The man is the father of a four-week old baby girl.
Cotter's employer, Award Window Cleaning, has been cited for serious violations in the past, and police on the scene said Cotter's harness was not connected properly. The company has been cited for not giving workers proper training.
