Vintage Revolver Stolen In Van Buren County And Then Recovered
VAN BUREN COUNTY - A teenager was arrested and jailed after a vintage handgun was stolen from a South Haven Township home Friday was recovered Saturday near Pullman.

According to Sheriff Dale Gribler, on Friday deputies from the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office received a complaint of a stolen handgun from a South Haven Township residence. The handgun was described as a vintage Harrington & Richardson revolver with an early date of manufacture.

The deputies' investigation developed suspects who might be connected to the incident. Through interviews with the suspects and a lengthy investigation the handgun was recovered in the Pullman area.

Further interviews were conducted that directly connected two 18-year-old male suspects to the incident -- one from Pullman and the other from Grand Junction. One of them was found to be the person who stole the handgun and attempted to sell it while the other suspect was found to have concealed the weapon during an attempt to sell the gun in the South Haven area.

The teen who was believed to have stolen the H&R revolver was located and was in possession of the handgun when he was arrested. The teenager was jailed at the Van Buren County Jail on two separate felony charges -- larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm.

That teen also is on probation in Allegan County for an unrelated charge.

Additional charges are being sought against both suspects through the Van Buren County Prosecutor's Office.

The incident remains under investigation.
