Friday, police released video of a dangerous police chase through Montcalm County. It started in the courthouse with a driving offense, and sent an officer to the hospital.

Mark McCuiag was in court for driving without a license, second offense. Now, the 41 year old is being held on $500,000 bond, facing 23 charges ranging from malicious destruction of a building, to felony restricting and obstructing a police officer causing injury, to malicious destruction of police and fire property, to assault with a dangerous weapon.

The Montcalm County Sheriff's Department says McCuaig was at the county courthouse at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, when the judge asked he be taken into custody for contempt of court. Deputies say he ran off, and several people tried to stop him, even using mace and a taser. McCuaig stole a car, and led police on a chase at speeds more than 80 miles an hour.

Deputies say he made it to his home on Peck Road near Greenville, where he barricaded himself inside for a while. When officers got into the home, McCuaig ran out to his garage and got into a motor home, driving the vehicle through the unopened garage door. Video from a dash camera in one of the deputies' cars shows the chase; the motor home still has the garage door hanging on the front. Deputies say McCuaig slammed into several police cruisers before the motor home was forced off the road, where he was tasered again and taken into custody.

In all, five police cars were damaged in the chase, and a Greenville Police Officer was treated and released from a nearby hospital.
