For a seventh straight day sunshine was prominent across most of West Michigan. Weak low pressure drifted into the southern Great Lakes, but because the airmass is so dry, much of the thicker cloudiness either evaporated or slide south. Clear blue skies could be found north of Grand Rapids where temps soared into the mid/upper 40s. High clouds and some filtered sunshine were prevalent from Grand Rapids to the south. Average highs for this time of year are around 39 degrees, but we'll see highs around 50 or better the next three to five days with more sunshine BEFORE things become a bit more unsettled and grey. So the good news here is sunshine for Monday and Tuesday with temps around 50, but the depressing news is an upper level cut-off low will very slowly meander through the Great Lakes Tuesday night all the way through next Sunday. That means a long period of dull, grey, cloudy, rainy weather. Overall, rainfall should generally be light. Our temps this week will make the low/mid 50s with a strong push of warmer air from the south despite the clouds and precipitation. Perhaps spring is here!
